We're obviously big fans of waxed canvas; it has a unique look and feel to it that technical fabric just can't duplicate. We wanted to bring that fabric into our cap line and offer something a little different from our wool and linen caps. This cap is constructed with four panels that curve around the head and are handsomely top-stitched. We lined the cap with lightweight silk/cotton fabric and added ethically sourced merino ear-flaps. This cap is one you'll want to grab to go feed the chickens or meet your friends for a drink. We also have found this to be the warmest and most water resistant of our caps. The cotton / nylon blend has a super tight weave then when impregnated with wax it offers a great barrier between your head and the elements, add that inner flannel lining and the double layer merino wool ear flaps and your noggin will be ready to take on most any storm.
SIZING INFO: These caps are very time consuming to make so please measure your head! You can find out how to measure your head at our FAQ (see CAPS) page. Measure twice cut once, as Randi's carpenter dad says! If you have any special requests, let us know, most likely we can accommodate you. If you receive your cap but it's too large or too small, Randi can adjust the sizing to try and give you the best fit possible (you're also welcome to return it). Email us at: info@randijofab.com.
BRIMS:
We use two different sized brims. Our Small & Medium, which is 7.25" wide by 1.75" deep (at center). And our Large & XL, which is 8.25" wide by 2.25" deep (at center). If you have a preference we cap swap them around for you.
CARE:
Spot wash with a damp cloth and mild soap (like Bronner's) and hang dry. Do NOT put in the washing machine.
Our current production schedule is approximately 6 weeks. If you need your order by a specific date please let us know.
All items are made to order from raw materials by our 3 person Family Crew of Randi, Joan, and Eric. We love our In-House Quality-First approach, where the same few people see all items through, from start to finish; from fabric bolt to handing your item off to Erin, our local Postmistress. We appreciate your patience and willingness to wait.
