There are many, many options to choose from when looking for a hip pack these days. We know this is not a new idea! We decided to join the myriad of companies that make these types of bags because, like with all of our products, we made one for someone we love, then for ourselves, used it for a a length of time and decided to offer our own take on a classic. We kept the design minimal for a clean, no fuss look. No mesh pockets or flapping straps with unnecessary hardware. Highly functional, easy on the eyes and will age beautifully.
Eric has been using two for all his camera needs for a couple years and says he'll never go back to a shoulder bag. They fit his camera body plus his largest lens (70-200mm) with room for soft goods. The weight of the camera is taken off of his shoulders and onto his hips and the quick adjust waist strap makes grabbing his camera on the go a snap. (Though these days I (Eric) have it slung over my shoulder, and sometimes another around my waist.
Our pack's waist strap uses two adjustment points to make switching the pack from back to front easy. We used a standard side release buckle as the main closure in the front. On the right side we added a quick adjust Laddleloc buckle that pulls open when you want to loosen the waist strap quickly.
The roll top gives you extra room when you want to pick up a treat on the way home or stash your jacket when the weather changes. The magnetic buckle strap secures the roll top and helps keep the bag snug against your back when loaded. The main body is foam padded for precious cargo and holds its shape well. The exterior front pocket touts an inverted pleated pocket for expandable room. Inside we also added a zippered pocket for your personal items.
We added molle webbing on the back and bottom of the pack to allow for the pack to be mounted onto handlebars. Simply slide the waist straps into the side opening pocket and attach the pack with the 3 provided Voile straps.
